Yung-wu (she/her) is a self-taught abstract artist living and working in Red Hook, New York. Heavily influenced by her upbringing in New York City and South Korean heritage, her work centers around the exploration of identity and fluidity of memory. Each work is created intuitively with a variety of unconventional tools, such as cardboard, battery packaging, and other found objects. Yung-wu‘s process is a balance of spontaneity and intentionality, taking in the moment and translating that onto canvas.
